Remove ELD from Encompass
This article explains how to delete an ELD in Encompass when it is no longer in use and outlines related actions for Drivers and Vehicles. Users navigate to Settings > Vehicles > Connected Device List, locate the ELD, and delete it using the trash can icon, confirming permanent removal. If the Driver will no longer use ELDs, their Data Profile can be changed to Essential to prevent unnecessary charges and disable ELD functions. For Drivers who have left the company, Encompass allows removal of the employee record and deletion of their Mobile User Login. If the associated vehicle is no longer in use, it can be disposed of to avoid billing for inactive units.

Driver No Longer Using ELDs
If the Driver typically associated with this ELD will no longer be utilizing ELDs in general, you can change their Data Profile to Essential so that you are not charged for a higher data profile than needed. Go to Drivers > Roster > locate the Driver and click on their name.

Select the Essential Driver Management profile from the dropdown. This indicates that this driver will not be logging their hours of service, are unable to access the Encompass® ELD mobile application, and that IFTA and ELD data will not be automatically sent to Encompass for them.
