Permitting
Permitting in Encompass is a feature that allows for users to track original permitting and renewable permitting items required for their vehicles.
Based on the Unit/Vehicle Type, GVW/CGW, License State, and Number of Axles, a pre-determined list is displayed in the Permitting tab for the Unit.
Permitting Setup
There is no setup required for Permitting. The checklist items will automatically populate if the Vehicle Type, GVW/CGW, License State, and then Number of Axles are filled in about the Unit.
-
Trailers/Towed Units will not have a Permitting checklist
-
Vehicle types that may have a checklist:
- B – Bus
- CB – Charter Bus
- CG – Converter Gear
- DB – Double Bottom
- EH – Equipment Hauler
- FT – Full Trailer
- MH – Motor Home
- RT – Road Tractor
- ST – Semi-Trailer
- TK – Truck
- TK – Truck (Single)
- TR – Tractor
- TT – Truck Tractor
- W – Wrecker
We are working on enhancing this feature to allow you to add any checklist items you need, regardless of the Unit Type, similar to how other checklists function in Encompass. This is a long-term project, and we currently do not have a specific delivery date.
Accessing & Using the Permitting Roster
The Permitting Roster contains the list of Units in Encompass for an account. To access the Permitting Roster, go to Vehicles > Permitting.
There have been 3 additional tabs provided to view Units that have Permits Expired, Expiring in 30 days, or Expiring in 60 days. Each roster also has a Date Range selector to filter for Units that have permitting items expiring within that range.
Hover actions exist on each line to Edit the full Permitting list or add an attachment to a Permitting Renewable Checklist item. The image below shows the Edit All Modal. In the bottom right corner:
- Cancel - closes the Modal without saving your work.
- Clear all Data - removes all the data you've entered.
- Save - saves all the data you've entered.
From the Permitting Roster, click on the Unit Code to be taken to the Permitting tab for the Unit as shown in the image below.
Note: Permitting Alerts are not yet available but are coming soon!
