Create a 2290Online Account

Go to www.2290online.com. At the top of the screen, select File 2290 Now.

If you already have a 2290online account, select Login under Returning Customer.  To create a new account, select Get Started.

If you are a tax preparer filing on behalf of someone else or another company, select File Now under Are you a Tax Preparer? If you are filing for your own company, select File Now under Are you a Single Fleet?.

Enter the details of your company.

Enter the EIN and ensure the appropriate Business Type is selected. Business Type must be selected accurately as it determines how your company name is sent to the IRS.

Complete the details for the Signing Authority and click Next.

There are two types of billing methods for tax filings, a subscription (Unlimited Tax Filings), or pay per tax filing.

  • A subscription is great for companies that obtain or get rid of vehicles frequently.
  • Use Pay Per Tax Filing if you have a stable fleet of vehicles and may only need to file additional Form 2290s a small amount of times a year.

Click Finish to complete account creation.
