Compliance Calendar/Tasks

The SMS Environmental Module automatically creates nearly 60 types of Recurring Tasks and Reminders to help you stay up‑to‑date and compliant with environmental requirements. This article explains how Recurring Tasks work, how Alerts are generated, and how to mark Tasks as complete.

How Recurring Tasks Work

The system includes many Tasks that are repeated on a regular schedule, such as weekly, monthly and annually. Because these Tasks are repeated, the system runs a nightly job that automatically generates Alerts for the next 90 days. This ensures you always see upcoming Tasks well in advance.

How Task reminders are issued

Each Task includes a built‑in Reminder. When a Task is created, you select an Alert timeframe (for example, 30 days before the due date). The system sends the Reminder based on that timeframe, helping you plan ahead and stay compliant.

Marking tasks as complete

You can complete Tasks in 2 different ways:

  1. From the Task Record: Open the Task, change the Status to Complete, and enter the Completion Date. This method is useful if the work was completed on a date other than today.

  2. From the Task Grid (Mark as Resolved): If you want a faster option, locate the Task in the Task Grid and choose Resolve. When you resolve a Task from the Grid, the system automatically marks the Task as Complete using today’s date as the Completion Date.
