Add and Manage Company Locations

This article explains how to manage Companies and Locations in FleetMentor to organize Driver and Vehicle records and streamline reporting. Users can add multiple Companies, each representing a separate business or corporate entity, and associate them with DOT numbers to sync with FMCSA data. Locations are created under a Company to organize assets, drivers, and reports but do not trigger alert reminders. Users can edit or delete Companies and Locations, with record transfers ensuring compliance with FMCSA retention requirements.

 

In the drop down next to your initials, click Edit Profile.

Then, select Company Locations from the left menu.

Add A Company

A Company is a separate business entity or corporate entity associated with your business. This is frequently found when an organization has more than one DOT # through mergers or acquisitions. You can create as many Companies as needed. Each Company can establish their own permit details to trigger Alert reminders.

A Location is typically a physical location where you associate your assets or Drivers. Locations do not have their own permit details or trigger Alert reminders. They are most commonly used to organize information for reports or viewing data.

 

To add a Company, click Add Company.

Fill out your Company Information. You can enter your DOT # and sync it with the FMCSA. This may cause some information to auto-populate. Click Save when finished.

The Company will now be added to your list. Click the Edit icon (pencil) to update any details about the Company.

Add a Location

 

Note: Locations must live under a Company, so make sure the applicable Company is set up first.

Click Add Location.

Select the Company this Location "belongs" to and enter a Location Name. Enter additional information as desired.

The Location will now display in the dropdown under the Company.

Edit Company or Location Details

To edit a Company or Location details, click the Edit icon (pencil).

Delete Company or Location Details

The FMCSA requires retention of Driver and Vehicle records. To ensure you do not lose records when removing a Company/Location from FleetMentor, you will be asked to transfer those records to another Company/Location. All dates and attached documents will be moved during this transfer as well.
