Team Driving - Separate Devices - Android

This article provides instructions for using Encompass® ELD’s Team Driver Mode with multiple smart devices, allowing each Driver to log Hours of Service on their own device. Both Drivers follow the same login steps, enabling Team Driver Mode, selecting “Separate Device,” and entering their duty status, location, and trip details. Only one device can connect to the ELD at a time, so the Driver starting the trip connects first. Drivers then link their accounts by entering each other’s mobile usernames, after which the system displays a Team Driving icon to confirm the setup.

NOTE: BOTH DRIVERS WILL PERFORM THE SAME STEPS ON THEIR OWN DEVICES.

The user will be presented with the ELD Connection & Discovery screen if Connect to ELD Hardware was toggled on from the Login screen.

*Only one device can be connected to the ELD, so the driver who will be driving first should connect to the ELD.
