Encompass Video Configuration

There are two options under the Video > Configuration tab:

  • Installers – Authorized personnel that will be installing the video systems in your vehicles. This area is where Installers are set up.
  • Device Associations – Used to manually pair and unpair cameras in each vehicle

Clicking on the Installers tab brings up the list of authorized Installers setup in the system. By switching the "Include Inactive" toggle on/off, you can include/not include inactive installers in the list view. Active installers will always be displayed.



Add a New Installer

Click on the orange Add button in the upper right corner of the screen.


Enter the new Installer’s details in each field and click SaveNote: The Start Date and End Date fields define the time period that the Installer will be active in your system.



An email will be sent to the new Installer notifying them that they’ve been added to the system and a new account has been created in the Installer app. The Installer will need to verify their account from the email to set up a password and verify their email address.



Note: If you have multiple company levels ("Real" Companies) and the same Installer for each, you will need to make sure that the Installer is added to each real company.


Editing Installers 

The Edit button (pencil icon) allows you to make changes to an existing Installer. You can also deactivate the installer here by toggling on "Deactivate?", as shown in orange below.



Emailing Installers

The Resend Email button (envelope icon) resends an email to the Installer informing them that they’ve been added as an “Active Installer”. This button is useful if the Installer did not receive an initial email.



Pairing Cameras and Vehicles as an Installer

The Installer will log into the system using the link from their initial email. Upon login, they will choose what fleet they intend to work with, unless they have already
been assigned a fleet by the Fleet Administrator.


Once they are logged in, the Installer will be able to see which cameras have already been paired and which ones are available for pairing. Click on the BEGIN PAIRING button to see the list of cameras available for pairing.


You can Search for a camera, click Scan to scan in its serial number with your device, or choose a camera from the list by clicking on it to highlight it. Then, click NEXT.



Next, you can Search for an available vehicle to pair the camera to, or locate and select the appropriate vehicle in the list. Click NEXT when the correct vehicle has been selected. (Note: You must have the vehicle added to Encompass before pairing the camera. The vehicle will not show up in this list until its added.)




Verify you have selected the correct camera and vehicle you wish to pair and click CONFIRM.



To view details of a paired device, click VIEW DETAILS under the paired device listing.


The Installer can test the system by ensuring that the vehicle ignition is on, the camera is powered on, and by clicking Request New Video.



Device Associations

To view the currently paired cameras and vehicles, go to Video > Configuration Device Associations. Results can further be filtered by the specific camera serial number, or by the vehicle name. You can also sort each column by clicking on the column header/s.



Add a New Device Association

To add a new pairing, click the orange ADD in the top right corner.


Find and select the Camera and its associated Vehicle from their respective dropdown lists and click SAVE. Note: You must have all vehicles/units added to your Encompass system in order for that vehicle to be available for pairing.



Delete a Pairing

To delete a pairing, click on the "X" next to the Camera. Then click REMOVE to delete the pairing.



Download Device Association List

To download a spreadsheet (.csv) file of your device information, click the cloud button in the top right. All information on this page will display in the spreadsheet.



Moving a Device from One Company Location to Another

If a camera is erroneously paired under the incorrect company location/level of Encompass, complete the following steps.:

  1. Delete the pairing by clicking the X next to the camera information.
  2. Then, send an email to with the following information:

  • Company name and account number
  • Camera Serial number that is moving
  • Current company location camera is under
  • Company location it should be moved to
