Converting the Device to an ELD

Once the device is added to Encompass, follow the steps below to convert to an ELD device.

 

1. Select the Settings link in the top right corner, next to the name field.

2. Select the Vehicles tab and navigate to the Connected Device List.

3. Navigate to the All Vehicle Trackers tab.

 

4. Locate the Serial Number and ensure it is assigned to a Unit Code. If it is not, select the Assign Unit icon on the far right.

5. Once assigned, select the check box and choose Convert to ELD.

 

 

If there was an error in converting:

1. Check the All ELDs tab and and see if the Unit Number has an ELD assigned to it. If yes, delete the ELD so the VT device can be assigned properly to the unit. The unit number can ONLY be assigned to 1 connected device.

2. If problems persist, there may be a camera paired to the unit with GPS Tracking enabled. Consult the documentation around Camera Tracking in Encompass to disable tracking for that unit, then try again.
