Editing Log Events in Encompass® ELD for Android™
The ELD Mandate allows drivers to edit today's log and the previous days' logs. When editing a log, there are two things the driver needs to keep in mind:
- If there isn't already a log created for that day, an off-duty log will have to be created first before being able to edit the log.
- Any automatically recorded driving events are unable to be edited.
To begin, tap on the View Log icon from the Encompass ELD Dashboard.
The Edit Log button will be displayed on the View Grid tab.
Once Edit Log is selected, the driver will then see the Edit Log screen which will show them their log events for that day.
- If a different day needs to have changes made to it, you can tap the arrows or tap the Log Date to change the date.
- Next to each duty status change, there is an Edit button.
- At the top of the Events, you can Add Event.
TIP: If you can't see the events and are holding your device horizontally, please scroll below the grid, or, rotate the device to hold it vertically.
Editing ELD Events
In the following example, the event at 10:09 AM needs to be changed to a different time. From the Edit Log page, tap Edit next to the duty status that needs to be changed.
Make any necessary changes. In this case, the Start time is changed to 10:00 AM. Ensure that the required fields (denoted by *) are also filled out accurately. Enter an Annotation for the status as to why the change was made. Click Save to save the changes.
The status is now changed from 10:09 AM to 10:00 AM.
The edited status will be displayed on the grid log screen in green, denoting that it was an edit made to the log.
