How to See What Driver Was in a Vehicle and When
This article explains how to identify which Driver was operating a specific Vehicle at a specific time using the Encompass® system. The process involves running the Employee Log Events Report under the Drivers > Reports menu, selecting desired date ranges, and exporting the data to Microsoft Excel. Once exported, users can filter and sort the spreadsheet by Event Type (1 for Duty Status Change) and Event Code (3 for Driving) to pinpoint Driver activity by tractor number. This method helps Administrators efficiently track Driver-Vehicle assignments for compliance, auditing, or operational review.
First, go to Drivers > Reports.

In the Hours of Service box, select Employee Log Events Report.

After the report is generated, you can select specific dates in which you would like to see data from. If you select specific dates, you will have to click View Report on the right.

Then, click Export in the top left and select Microsoft Excel.

An Excel file will download to your device. Open the file. You will need to know how to filter/sort a spreadsheet in order to narrow down results. It may be easiest to select Row 4 and then click the Filters button.

Then, sort the Event Type column (Column J) to include 1 (this is the Duty Status Change event type) and then sort the Event Code column (Column K) to include 3 (this is the Driving event code).

Now you can see which driver was in the specific Tractor Number at a given time.
