Reports - How to Create a Custom Report

About Customizing Reports

Although many of the reports are fine the way they are, you might wish to filter by specific driver ranges or job classes.  This article will show you how to run an ad hoc custom report AND how to save a custom report for use later.

Run a Custom Report - Ad Hoc

This example will walk you through running an Employee report where the Drivers are CDL Drivers only.  In order to get this report to work correctly, though, it must be noted that the data has to be in the system in such a way as to be able to get it out. In this case, the Job Class of "CDL Driver" has been added and used.  There are three drivers with this job class.

  1. Start on the Driver Management | Reports & Forms Tab
  2. Select "Employee Information Detail" (under Employee and Company Reports)
  3. The Parameters screen will appear
  4. Select the Job Class "CDL Driver" checkbox; make sure to check the option for "Include selected job classes..."
  5. Run Report
  6. Review the report

    1. a Report Name into "My Report Name:".   Though not noted, this field is required.
    2. My Report Description is optional
    3. Select option on Make available company-wide.  If you select "Yes," it means you want to share the report for other users to view who can get to your location and tab.  Select "No" if it's really just specific to you.
    4. Click OK
  7. The system will take you back to the Parameter view and show a Success Message
  8. You can now "Run Report" to get results.

The report will show up on the Reports & Forms tab now under "My Custom Reports."
