Trip Information

Trip information such as trailer number and shipment information can be entered directly into the Encompass® ELD application.

When logging into the application, the user will be prompted for their trip information. Additionally, any special exemptions may be listed for the user to select, if they apply.  This includes, but is not limited to, Returned to work location (for eligibility for the short-haul exception, or big day), Exempt from 30 min rest breakHauling explosives, and Oilfield Operations. If there are options that appear to be missing, the driver should reach out to their Encompass Administrator.

If any information on this page is always the same, select Set Default... for the information to automatically populate.

Note:

  • Trip Information should always reflect what’s actively being hauled at any given time.
    • For example, If the Trailer Number needs to change, the driver can clear out the current info and add the new trailer number. Encompass ELD will remember the previous Trailer Number and it will reflect on the driver's log.

  • If multiple Trailers or Shipments are being transported at once, these can be separated with a "space".
    • Example: Say there are two trailers, A and B, in tow. The Trailer Number(s) field should have “A B” entered. If Trailer B is dropped off, by the time the driver sets off again, the trip information should be updated to only say "A".

Reminder: Updated/saved trip information should always reflect what’s actively being hauled at any given time. For example, If the Trailer Number needs to change, the driver can clear out the current info and add the new trailer number. Encompass ELD will remember the previous Trailer Number and it will reflect on the driver's log.
