Events Description Default Sensitivity VP Geotab VP Stand Alone Encompass
Cell Phone Holding a phone (or square object) within the camera's field of view for the configured time period. 12 consecutive seconds X X X
Collision Detected

This rule will trigger if the accelerometer detects a change of more than 2.6 G (the equivalent to a change in speed greater than 90 km/h or 56 mph in 1 second) in the forward/braking or side-to-side direction. If possible, the device will send detailed forensic information about position, speed, and acceleration of the vehicle.

(Geotab Rule)

Change of more than 2.6 G in the forward/braking or side-to-side direction X X X
Critical Speeding This is a Speed Limit Violation event that exceeds the posted speed limit by a pre-defined amount (default 10 MPH). > 10 MPH over posted speed limit N/A X X
Distracted Driver Driver's head turns to certain angles (up or down, side to side) for the configured time period. 14 consecutive seconds X X X
Driver Fatigue Driver's eyes shut for X consecutive seconds. Has override for frequent blinkers and separate "high-risk" drive time periods. Also plays an audible warning. 3 consecutive seconds X X X
Driver Initiated Driver presses button on camera. 1 second X X X
Driver View Obstructed Triggered when the AI can’t see the face/eyes of the Driver for a set period of time. 15 seconds X X X
Excessive Safety Incident This rule will trigger when a hard or aggressive turn causes a g-force greater than the configured value to be exerted on the vehicle. (Geotab Rule) Acceleration side to side > 0.34 G or < -0.34 G X N/A N/A
Forward Collision Warning Vehicle is detected in front and has risk of collision. Time to collision < 2.7 seconds X X X
Harsh Acceleration This rule will trigger when a harsh acceleration event causes a g-force greater than the configured value to be exerted on the vehicle. (Geotab Rule) Acceleration forward or braking > 0.31 G Not displayed X X
Harsh Braking This rule will trigger when a harsh braking event causes a g-force greater than the configured value to be exerted on the vehicle.(Geotab Rule) Acceleration forward or braking < -0.61 G X X X
Harsh Cornering This rule will trigger when a hard or aggressive turn causes a g-force greater than the configured value to be exerted on the vehicle. (Geotab Rule) Acceleration side to side > 0.32 G or < -0.32 G X X X
Lane Departure Warning This rule triggers if the vehicle deviates from the marked lane by the configured value.
*Requires special hardware setup with vehicle blinkers.
On or across lane marker * * *
Lens Covered Triggered when the camera detects that one or more of the lens are blocked (measures ambient light to lens). Evaluates available light for 255 seconds X X X
No Seatbelt Camera AI can not see that the Driver is properly wearing the seatbelt for the configured time period. 30 seconds X X X
Pedestrian Collision Warning Triggered when a pedestrian is detected in the vehicle's path and the vehicle is moving at least 5 MPH. Also plays an audible warning.  > 5 MPH X X X
Promoted Video Recall Used to move a Recalled Video to the Video Events screen for additional tracking. N/A X X X
Speed Limit Violation This reading the posted signs on the side of the road. > 10 MPH over posted speed limit X X X
Stop Sign Violation AI detects stop sign. It is based off of speed but a buffer can be set. (Could give a 1 or 2 mph buffer so truck doesn’t necessarily have to come to a 0 mph stop) < 2 MPH within 7 seconds of detecting Stop sign X X X
Tailgating Vehicle in the same lane is detected to the front and the "time to collision" is calculated based on the speed of both vehicles and the following distance. (Event triggers if safe following distance threshold is exceeded) Default to low .6 seconds
Low: 0.6
Middle: 1s
High: 1.2s
